Wealth Preservation:

Paul Schulz didn’t just stumble into the world of financial advising; he was shaped by his experiences growing up in a family that believed in the value of hard work and legacy. Watching his parents build their wealth brick by brick, he learned that true financial success isn’t just about the numbers — it’s about ensuring that the fruits of your labor continue to benefit future generations.
With 25 years of experience as an advisor, Paul has made it his mission to help clients build secure legacies that last. From helping families navigate uncertain markets to preserving their wealth for future generations, Paul is passionate about making the complexities of retirement planning approachable and empowering his clients to live their "diamond years" without fear.
His proprietary strategies, like the Schulz Ratio, are born from decades of observing market patterns and ensuring that even in uncertain times, his clients’ financial futures remain protected.

Paul’s success as a financial advisor is driven by his deep understanding of the decumulation phase — that critical period when retirees begin drawing down their assets while working to maintain security and peace of mind. Unlike many advisors who focus solely on accumulation, Paul has developed a keen expertise in helping clients navigate the often-overlooked complexities of decumulation. Utilizing an Income Floor With Upside and his Barbell Strategy, he aims to balance safety and growth, helping clients strive to enjoy their retirement years with greater confidence and reduced concern about outliving their savings.
Paul’s experience spans three generations of families whom he has helped to approach retirement with personalized guidance and adaptable strategies. By blending traditional methods with innovative approaches, Paul works to ensure that each client’s
retirement plan is both resilient and flexible enough to help withstand changing economic conditions.

The phrase “the golden years” was coined in 1959 in an advertising campaign for America’s first large-scale retirement community. It quickly caught on as a phrase to symbolize a time of life characterized by comfort, security, and the luxury of time.
After visiting many clients in assisted living and nursing homes, Paul realized that retirees have only a few years that are actually “Golden.” Paul observed that some of his clients aged very rapidly and was astonished, that few seemed to be conscious of how precious time was. Paul had an epiphany, retirees were possibly uninformed because the financial planning industry was not highlighting the precious few years after normal retirement age. Essentially what was missing in traditional planning was the consciousness of the “Diamond Years” in retirement. Those few years a retiree has the health, energy and desire to be fully active with leisure activities.
Consequently, Paul reasoned it was instrumental that retirees develop a three to five year life plan in conjunction with a retirement plan. The reason being that the retirement plan should help a retiree accomplish their life dreams in those “Diamond Years” of retirement.
Paul is passionate in helping retirees create a vision of ideal retirement and then implement wealth strategies to help retirees to take full advantage of the Diamond Years. His approach is cutting edge and is being given national attention from other advisors.

At the heart of Paul’s practice is a commitment to faith, family, and financial integrity. For him, advising is more than just a profession — it’s a calling. Paul believes that every financial decision should reflect a deeper purpose, one rooted in the values he holds dear. That’s why he takes the time to truly understand his clients' goals, values, and family dynamics before offering any advice.
His clients know that when they work with Paul, they’re not just getting a financial advisor — they’re gaining a partner who cares as much about their future as they do. This commitment extends beyond the office, as Paul actively participates in his community through local charitable organizations and church activities. Whether he’s volunteering at a sports event or serving in his faith community, Paul leads by example, living out the very values he promotes in his work.

When Paul first developed the Schulz Ratio, his goal was to create a framework for comparing stock market valuations to more conservative investment benchmarks. This analytical approach helps illustrate how different market factors, such as earnings growth and interest rates, can interact over time. It’s one of several educational tools Paul uses to help clients better understand market dynamics and make informed decisions aligned with their individual goals and risk tolerance.

Outside of work, Paul lives by the same values he promotes in his practice — balance, dedication, and purpose. An avid hiker, Paul finds peace and clarity on the trails, often taking time to reflect on how the simplicity of nature parallels the kind of clarity he aims to bring to his clients' financial lives. He’s also a regular at the gym, believing that physical fitness is an essential part of overall well-being.
But above all, Paul’s favorite way to spend his time is with his family. Whether it’s a weekend hike, a family dinner, or cheering at a local sports event, Paul is dedicated to being present and involved in the lives of his loved ones. This balance of work, faith, and family allows Paul to approach each day with renewed energy and purpose, a mindset that resonates deeply with his clients.
